The Old Testament, for most Christian people, is the first part of the Christian Bibles. It contains the Pentateuch, and other series of historical, sapiential and prophetic books. In total, 46 books are numbered in the Old Testament, which together with the 27 of the New Testament form the Bible with its 73 biblical books.
