The wolf or gray wolf (Canis lupus) is the most common and largest species of the dog family (Canidae). The dog is a subspecies breed.

Gray wolf, also known as gray wolf or forest wolf, is the most common and most common wolf species in the world and is therefore commonly used synonymously with the word wolf. Red wolves (C. rufus), once common in the Southeast US, are smaller than the calf. Until recently, Habeş kurdu (C. simensis), known as a jackal, lives in the mountainous regions of Ethiopia.

When examined more closely, it is seen that the body is longer than the dog, and the breast is higher and thinner. The head of the wolves is large, the ears are short, and the tasseled tails are one third of the length of their body. Colors vary locally according to their subspecies, white, cream color, yellowish, reddish, gray and black.

There are gray wolves in the less hot areas of Europe and Asia. When you go further north, black and white wolves are more common.

The size of the wolves also varies locally:

The largest wolves are found in Eastern Europe, Alaska, Central Russia, Scandinavia and Northwest Canada, with a body length of 160 cm (+ 52 cm tail) and 80 cm of standing while standing. These worms weigh up to 65-85 kg.
The smallest worms are found in the Middle East, the Mediterranean environs, Mexico and the Arabian Peninsula, but they can have 80 cm body length (+ 29 cm tail) and 20-30 kg weight.
Before humans developed agriculture and herd livestock, wolves were one of the world's most common predators. It was seen in all of Eurasia, North Africa and North America. However, it has been extensively consumed by people in developed countries, especially in western Europe. Today, Eastern Europe, the Balkan peninsula, Canada, Siberia, Mongolia and Iran have widespread areas of wolves. Apart from these, only isolated areas are found.

The wolf, an animal that can adapt very well, can live in places ranging from the ice deserts of the north pole to the sand deserts of Central Asia and North America. Most wolves live in steppes and forests. It has been recognized as a forest animal because people have been escaping from open spaces to forests since early times.
