The Watan Radio Television (WatanRTV) is a commercial television and radio network in Afghanistan, with main broadcast facilities and transmitter located at Kandahar, Jamal Mina, Kabul, Afghanistan. Its main TV station WATANRTV Channel 24 UHF 495.25 MkHz. It also operates radio station 100.80 FM MkHz (digital) in Kabul.
WatanRTV was granted of a Radio-TV license from Afghanistan National Radio Television and National Independent Broadcasting Commission in 2009. WatanRTV was on test broadcast, and commercial operations started on December 22, 2009. A brand-new television and radio broadcasting network was born - Watan Radio Television, doing business under the trade name WatanRTV.
The slogan "Watan” means homeland, the land of Afghan. A landlocked and mountainous country, the 41st largest nation in the world witnessed military conquest and experienced a continuous state of war and major occupation in the late 70’s.
