Em 2003, assumiu a vice-presidência da Associação Comercial de São Paulo, a convite do então Presidente da Associação Comercial de São Paulo, Guilherme Afif Domingos, cargo que ocupa no momento na entidade.
VIDA POLÍTICA
Em 2005, Walter Ihoshi assumiu a subprefeitura do Jabaquara, na zona sul de São Paulo. Em 2006, deixou o cargo para concorrer às eleições.
Primeiro mandato
Em 2007, Ihoshi iniciou seu primeiro mandato como deputado federal. Obteve importantes conquistas nos primeiros quatro anos, tanto para o Estado de São Paulo, como para a comunidade nipo-brasileira. Apresentou projetos de lei, relatou matérias relevantes, solicitou audiências públicas e se envolveu em importantes movimentos, como a luta pelo fim da Contribuição Provisória por Movimentação Financeira (CPMF) e pela aprovação do Microempreendedor Individual (MEI) no regime do Simples Nacional, conhecido como Supersimples. Ajudou mais de 80 municípios com emendas parlamentares, destinadas às áreas da saúde, educação, infraestrutura e turismo. Walter Ihoshi também foi um dos responsáveis pela regulamentação das profissões de cabeleireiro, barbeiro, manicure, pedicure, esteticista e depilador.
Ihoshi ainda comemorou a aprovação do cadastro positivo no Brasil, e a assinatura do acordo bilateral previdenciário entre Brasil e Japão, bandeiras nos quais lutou incansavelmente para que saísse do papel.
Segundo mandato
Em 2011, Ihoshi foi empossado para o segundo mandato. Desde então, tem trabalhado pela desburocratização e desoneração tributária do Brasil. Walter Ihoshi defende projetos que incentivem o setor produtivo brasileiro, pois acredita que o desenvolvimento do país - aliado à educação - é a melhor maneira de se diminuir as desigualdades sociais, já que ele gera economia forte, trabalho e renda e à população.
Em 2013, Walter Ihoshi lançou a Frente Parlamentar para a Desoneração dos Medicamentos, com o objetivo de reduzir a carga tributária sobre remédios no país, que é a mais alta do mundo. A Frente fundada e presidida por Ihoshi é, hoje, uma das maiores da história do Congresso Nacional, e conta com o apoio de todo o setor farmacêutico brasileiro e da sociedade civil.
Walter Ihoshi também tem trabalhado a favor das Santas Casas, hospitais e centros de saúde. Foram diversas emendas parlamentares destinadas às essas entidades para manutenção e aquisição de equipamentos para bem atender a população.
Em agosto de 2013, o deputado viu seu primeiro projeto de lei ser aprovado pelo Congresso. Em outubro, o PL 791/07 foi sancionado pela presidência da República e passou a ser lei. A agora Lei nº 12.874 permite às autoridades consulares a celebrarem a separação e o divórcio consensuais de brasileiros residentes no exterior.
Defensor de um Brasil desenvolvimentista e auto-sustentável, Walter Ihoshi é considerado um dos parlamentares mais atuantes do país. Ao longo dos seus dois mandatos tem apresentado projetos que contribuem por um país moderno, produtivo e competitivo. Walter Ihoshi traz em suas ações a transparência e o comprometimento para com a população.
Terceiro mandato
Em fevereiro de 2015, deu início ao seu terceiro mandato na Câmara dos Deputados qual vai dar continuidade ao seu trabalho voltado para o desenvolvimento econômico e social do Brasil. Sempre trabalhando de forma honesta e transparente, coerente à contextualização dos fatos para as tomadas de decisões, buscando o melhor para o nosso país voltar a crescer.

It helped more than 80 municipalities with parliamentary amendments, aimed at areas of health, education, infrastructure and tourism. Walter Ihoshi was also one of the regulators of hairdressing, barber, manicure, pedicure, beautician and epilator.
Ihoshi also celebrated the adoption of the positive list in Brazil, and the signing of the bilateral social security agreement between Brazil and Japan, where flags fought tirelessly to come out of the paper.
Second term
In 2011, Ihoshi was sworn in for a second term. Since then he has worked for the tax exemption and reducing bureaucracy in Brazil. Walter Ihoshi supports projects that encourage the Brazilian productive sector, as it believes that the country's development - combined with education - is the best way to reduce social inequalities, since it generates strong economy, employment and income and the public.
In 2013, Walter Ihoshi launched the Parliamentary Front for the Exemption of Medicines, aiming to reduce the tax burden on medicines in the country, which is the highest in the world. The Front founded and chaired by Ihoshi is now one of the largest in the history of Congress, and has the support of all the Brazilian pharmaceutical sector and civil society.
Walter Ihoshi has also worked in favor of Hospitals, hospitals and health centers. There were several parliamentary amendments aimed at these agencies for the maintenance and acquisition of equipment to well serve the population.
In August 2013, the deputy saw his first bill to be passed by Congress. In October, the PL 791/07 was sanctioned by the President of the Republic and became law. The Law No. 12,874 now allows consular officials to celebrate the separation and consensual divorce Brazilians living abroad.
