Secara umum sholat di malam hari setelah sholat ‘Isya sampai subuh disebut Qiyamul Lail. Di dalam Al-Qur`an Al-Karim, Allah Subhanahu berfirman :
“Hai orang yang berselimut (Muhammad), bangunlah (untuk sembahyang) di malam hari, kecuali sedikit (daripadanya), (yaitu) seperduanya atau kurangilah dari seperdua itu sedikit, atau lebih dari seperdua itu. Dan bacalah Al Qur’an itu dengan perlahan-lahan.” (QS. Al-Muzzammil : 1-4) In general prayers at night after praying 'Isha until dawn called Qiyamul Lail. In Al-Qur`an al-Karim, Allah Subhanahu says:
"O you wrapped (Muhammad), get up (for prayer) at night, except a little (thereof), (ie) Half of half or subtract from it a little, or more than half of it. And read the Qur'an it slowly. "(QS. Al-Muzzammil: 1-4)
