Pengertian Tauhid Asma Wa Sifat
Kata “asma” adalah bentuk jama dari kata “ismun”, yang artinya ‘nama’. “Asma Allah” berarti ‘nama-nama Allah’. Asma’ul husna berarti nama-nama yang baik dan terpuji. Sehingga istilah “asma’ul husna” bagi Allah maksudnya adalah nama-nama yang indah, baik dan terpuji yang menjadi milik Allah. Misalnya: Ar Rahman, Ar Rahim, Al Malik, Al Ghafur, dan lain-lain.
Sedangkan kata “sifat” dalam bahasa Arab berbeda dengan “sifat” dalam bahasa indonesia. Kata “sifat” dalam bahasa arab mencakup segala informasi yang melekat pada suatu yang wujud. Sehingga “sifat bagi benda” dalam bahasa arab mencakup sifat benda itu sendiri, seperti besar kecilnya, tinggi rendahnya, warnanya, keelokannya, dan lain-lain. Juga mencakup apa yang dilakukannya, apa saja yang dimilikinya, keadaan, gerakan, dan informasi lainnya yang ada pada benda tersebut.
