In mid-March Google rolled out a fix to a regression in their GPS library that was causing inaccurate altitude measurements (e.g. missed and split runs).

- Trail maps: Opened trail maps will retain their zoom level and location so you can quickly return to where you were looking.
- Location sharing friend avatars: Friends will display as faded on the map when their last known location is older than 10 minutes.

On February 7 Google confirmed a regression in their GPS library that causes inaccurate altitude measurements (e.g. missed and split runs). They said they have a fix rolling out to users at the beginning of March.

- Location sharing: Never lose your friends on the mountain again! It's privacy-focused so only friends who are skiing at the same resort on the same day can see you and opt-in so your location won't touch Slopes servers unless you enable this feature.
