Pengarang shalawat Burdah ialah Imam Al-Bushiri (610-695H/1213-1296 M). Nama lengkapnya Syarafuddin Abu Abdillah Muhammad bin Zaid Al-Bushiri. Selain menulis Burdah, Al-Bushiri juga menulis beberapa qashidah lain. Di antaranya Al-Qashidah Al-Mudhariyah dan Al-Qashidah Al-Hamziyah.
