Use:
The App can be used as a checkpoint at entrances of offices, apartments, factories etc., by the guards to validate authorization before allowing entry. It can also be used as handy lookup by staff in an organization or by residents in a large apartment complex.

Highlights:
• Simple operation - enter ID / Apt No to get details including photo, name & vehicle #s.
• Photos are encoded and copied into a different directory to avoid misuse.
• Input file is loaded into Database & erased to avoid misuse.

Details:
• Open the App once to create the directories required.
• Provide input data under folder SecurityCheck as a csv (comma separated values)
file Residents.csv in the following format .
o Id - Id of employee or Resident’s Apartment No. Must be a number.
o Name of employee/Resident
o This campus/Resident (Y) or other campus/Non-Resident (N)
o Employee/Owner(Y) or Visitor/Tenant(N)
o Type(S): Strict Screening needed/(F): Free entry without any
screening/(G):Guest/Temporary Employee/Resident needing
moderate screening
o Vehicle Number(s) - if more than one, use double quotes (“”) and
separate vehicle numbers using comma(,).
o Status - (V): verification pending, (U):unauthorized,(S):Stop Entry!
o Remarks - Comments/Instructions
o Validity - Date in dd/mm/yyyy format
o File Name of the photo

• Except for Id & name, all other data/columns are optional. There can be more
than one entry per ID (in case of apartments).
• Copy photos (optional) under folder SecurityCheck.
• Make sure Photo file names are updated in the csv file against the correct ID.
• On a successful search App displays Photo(if available) and the data in the
following format
o Name:Status:Vehicle#:Remarks
• If search fails, a “No data found” error is displayed.

Additional Information:
• On startup the App loads the data into its Database from input file Residents.csv.
The photos of residents are encoded & moved over to Data directory on the device,
for security/privacy reasons. Residents.csv file is deleted as well. This is to disable
access to the data/photos by the user of the App.
• The search results are color coded based on type of employee/visitor
o Green - Employee working in this campus or Owner residing here
o Magenta - Employee working in another campus or Non resident owner
o Blue - Employee of this campus with free (no screening) entry
o Red - Guest Employee or temporary resident needing moderate screening
o Yellow - Employee or Resident needing strict screening
• Each lookup is recorded with the ID # and a report is created as
SecurityCheck_rpt.csv under folder Reports.
• Any update to the Residents.csv file requires the complete file to be copied, while
only additional photos need to be added. The App needs to be restarted for the
new data & photos to be loaded.

Suggestions:
• Data may be collected in the office in a spreadsheet, which can be saved as csv file.
• Photos can either be manually scanned or captured digitally.
• Data collected in spreadsheets, if different, can be processed using VB scripts
(xls macros) to extract to the required format.
• Data (Residents.csv & the photos) can be transferred to the Android device either
via USB or Bluetooth.
