The Guest Tour provides Royalton guests with a behind-the-scenes look at some of the iconic sightseeing attractions within a one-block of the property. Step back in time to Mark Twain's Gilded Age, when vast fortunes were amassed, lost and devoted to public good on an almost daily basis. Rub shoulders with industrialists, collectors, plagiarists, murderers, the hobos of the Great Depression and the nation's richest families. This is the story of America in miniature, of the institutions of a great city established initially by many, for the few, and transformed, in time, to benefit all.
The Guest Tour tells this tales from the vantage point of six places close to the Royalton. You will have a map, along with a suggested tour itinerary, but you may explore in any order you like, in a single session or one story at a time. Test your knowledge with the trivia quiz that can be skipped at any time if desired. Please note that access to the New York Public Library is free of charge, seven days a week.
