El festival Rock Al Parque inició en 1994 teniendo su origen en los Encuentros de Música Juvenil que se realizaron en el Planetario Distrital desde 1992, como una iniciativa del cantante Mario Duarte miembro de la banda La Derecha, quien busco el apoyo del Instituto Distrital de Cultura y Turismo de Bogotá (IDCT) y el empresario cultural Julio Correal con el objetivo de promover las bandas de Rock del país y a la misma vez fomentar programas de convivencia y tolerancia entre los jóvenes de la ciudad. Fue así como el festival se llevó a cabo del 26 al 29 de mayo en diferentes escenarios como el teatro al aire libre de La Media Torta,6 el Parque Simón Bolívar, la Plaza de Toros La Santa María, este último siendo el único lugar donde se cobró la entrada. The festival Rock Park began in 1994 having its origin in the Encounters of Youth Music that took place in the District Planetarium since 1992, as an initiative of singer Mario Duarte band member right, who sought the support of the Institute of Culture Bogotá and Tourism (IDCT) and cultural businessman Julio Correal with the aim of promoting rock bands in the country and at the same time promote programs of coexistence and tolerance among young people in the city. That's how the festival was held from 26 to 29 May in various venues like the outdoor theater of La Media Torta, 6 Simón Bolívar Park, the Plaza de Toros La Santa Maria, the latter being the only place inlet was charged.
