They're young, they're rich and they're Insta-famous. They have more money than you and here you can see what they do. The Rich Kids of Instagram is one of those things you will hate very much, but you will continue to look at anyway.

From downing magnums of Champagne to lounging on luxury yachts, these pictures show how the Rich Kids of Instagram are spending their summers. The unapologetic youngsters have been taking to social media to flaunt their wealth and document their extravagant, exotic getaways.

In one image, a young woman can be seen posing on the steps of an enormous yacht in The Bahamas, gazing out at the sparkling ocean. In another, a bikini-clad female is captured pouring Veuve Clicquot from a huge bottle into a man's mouth as they party in Las Vegas. And in one snap, a beachgoer is pictured strolling across a deserted stretch of sand towards his 'toy' - a private helicopter.

When you combine youth, unlimited cash and iPhone technology, you get braggadocios photographic evidence of a lavish lifestyle. Also known as the Rich Kids of Instagram. At first glance, this app is so ridiculously over the top it’s laughable. But a deeper look reveals for me some cultural sadness…privileged kids posting bar tab receipts that cost more than four years of college at a private university and talking shit about it. Depending on your mood - it can be entertaining or awful.

But if art (or curation) is aimed to send a message, make a claim, create a reaction, my take is that this app is worthy of your time - even if it’s to feel the weirdness.
