Do you want to verify the solution of your quadratic equation homework? This simple application will perform it for you. Enter the values of quadratic coefficients i.e., a, b, and c as input and get the two possible quadratic roots as output.

Background
Quadratic equation is used in elementary algebra, the solution of which is known to us since 2000BC (Babylonian mathematics). It is non-linear uni-variate equation which means that only one variable exists in the equation having two possible solutions. It is a second degree polynomial equation with highest power of x being 2. If the coefficient of x2 is zero, the equation reduces to a linear equation.
Theoretically, the quadratic equation can be solved by the following methods:
1. Factorization or Factorisation or Factoring or Factorising or Factoring by inspection (different names of a single process)
2. Completing the square method
3. Quadratic Formula method
4. Graphing method
If you have derived your answer by one of the above methods and want to check your answer whether it is correct or not, use this application. It will give you the exact roots and their nature. There are three possible natures of quadratic roots. These are:
1. If the discriminant is positive, the roots are real and distinct
2. If the discriminant is zero, the roots are real and equal
3. If the discriminant is negative, the roots are complex conjugates and distinct
The equations of the circle and other conic sections including ellipse, parabola, and hyperbola are actually quadratic equations. The golden ratio can be found in solution of a specific quadratic equation (x2 - x - 1 = 0). Solving the trigonometric equations often involve quadratic equation. RL/ RC/ RLC circuits contain the quadratic equation.
