Powered by Durex, the Swasth Banega LGBTQ India programme aims to enhance the health and wellbeing of India’s LGBTQ community. The programme aims to address key issues that affect LGBTQ health, by designing and implementing innovative approaches in collaboration with key partners.
The ProteQt app has been designed with the intent to help the community users assess the risk to their sexual health via a short questionnaire that provides a risk status. This helps the user understand their current level of risk (low, medium or high).
Since the needs of the community are unique, the app helps the user find resources run by community members, such as Community Based Organizations (CBOs), as well as resources supported by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) - Drop In Centers (DICs), Integrated Counselling and Testing Centers (ICTCs), Anti-Retroviral Treatment Centers (ARTCs). The aim is to enable community members find and access available services in their locality.
App Features:
1. Users can assess their sexual health risk via a behavioural assessment tool
2. Users can find the location and contact information of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) providing peer support and community HIV support for the LGBTQ community in Mumbai and Delhi cities.
3. The app features contact information and locations for NACO -designated HIV counselling, testing and treatment centers and ART centers located in Government facilities, along with Drop In Centers run by NGOs and CBOs in Mumbai and Delhi
4. Government Helplines have been listed for users for easy access
