PPTalk - the app logo is base on a common childhood toy, a simple communication set via a string and two tin cans.
The idea behinds the app is to have an intuitive and simplistic experience, for folks that don’t want to contend with multiple smartphone apps, when interacting with a single contact:
1. He/she do not have the need to switch between multiple apps to communicate with the same person (contact). Where phone permission, restriction and features allowed, this app allows a 1-to-1 interaction with a single contact within the context of 1 screen.
2. The app attempts to hide much of the complexity from the user, presenting an interface that look noticably simple.
The first screen (Contacts View), that greet the user, is a simple contacts phonebook, without the cluster of unwanted contacts. The menu bar includes some useful utilities such as torch light, a simple manual phone dialer and list of PPTalk managed reminders. Settings menu, accessible via menu bar, provide customization of PPTalk features such as turning on and off torch light feature, avoid location looking up of address information when on data roam, etc. Except for torch, phone manual dialer and reminder icons, other menu bar functions (such as adding user or settings) are hidden and can be unlocked via clicking on the “lock” icon. Clicking on the “key” icon will relock the menu bar.
When a user clicked on any contact it will bring up a second screen (Making Contact). This screen provides simple icons base interaction with the selected contact. Where contact information is available, user can call a contact Home phone, Office phone and Mobile phone from the first row of icons. The second row icons provides quick reading of last SMS, or sending of pre-defined quick SMS. If “send location” setting is enabled, the user can send to the contact his/her current location information.
The features set are different for “Advanced Mode” and “Normal Mode”, they were designed with the concept of “Care giver” and “Care recepient” relationship in mind. So, the “Normal Mode” provides very simplistic contacts interaction functions. The “Advanced Mode” on the other hand gives user control over the application features such as adding personal reminder, save list of location, etc.
The “Advanced Mode” allows user to create and send Reminder to selected contact, maintaining a list of reminders sent and ability to later on send amendment or cancellation. He/she can also share contact from his/her contact list to selected contact. On the recipient end, all information received is presented with a very intuitive screen where recipient can easily add, to his/her contact or calendar, with a click of a “Add” icon (or a “Minus” for deletion of reminder). Please note that all sending of these information are via SMS, so it may incur additional charges from your service provider for usage. User must first be a contact of recipient’s PPTalk contact list before he/she can received reminders, new contact, etc.
Phone running Android M and above, for the app to run, the user need to grant access permission to “Contacts”, “Phones”, “SMS”, “Storage” and “Camera”. Without any of these permission the app will automatically cease and exit the program. The user needs to also grants “Location” access permission for access to location information and “Calendar” access permission for reminder features.

I sincerely appreciate any constructive feedback and suggestion.

THANK YOU and hope you enjoy this app.
