Place In Faridpur

The town of Fatehabad was situated by a stream known as the Dead Padma, which was 20 miles from the principle channel of the Padma River. Sultan Jalaluddin Muhammad Shah built up a mint in Fatehabad during his reign in the mid fifteenth century. Fatehabad kept on being a mint town of the Bengal Sultanate until 1538. In Ain-I-Akbari, it was named as Haweli Mahal Fatehabad during the reign of Emperor Akbar in the Mughal Empire. The Portuguese cartographer João de Barros referenced it as Fatiabas. The Dutch guide of Van nook Brouck depicted it as Fathur.Its first notice in Bengali writing was by Daulat Uzir Bahram Khan in his adaption of Layla and Majnun.The medieval writer Alaol was conceived in Faridpur.

Fathabad was a deliberately significant base in south and southwestern Bengal. It was a well-created urban focus. The town was home to significant Mughal government authorities, including officers, government employees and jagirdars. During the reign of Emperor Jahangir in the seventeenth century, neighborhood zamindars Satrajit and Mukund opposed the Mughal government. By the nineteenth century, the town was renamed as Faridpur to pay tribute to the Sufi holy person Shah Fariduddin Masud, a supporter of the Chishti request of Ajmer.Haji Shariatullah and Dudu Miyan drove the preservationist Faraizi development in Faridpur during the mid nineteenth century.
