The Paramedic Dopamine Calculator is a simple utility aimed at providing a quick reference to setting up a Dopamine drip in the field or emergency setting. This uses only 800mcg/ml and 1600mcg/ml Dopamine concentrations. It also assumes that the user will be using a gravity drip instead of a mechanical or electronic device. You can use the tool's buttons to quickly change default values or manually input the exact numbers using your devices input keys.
I'm making this application free. All I ask in return is that if you like it, please give it a good rating. I'll enjoy knowing that those downloading this application find it either useful or at least entertaining.
Please note that the values returned by this calculator will not be the exact decimal number you would receive if you were to use a standard calculator. The Paramedic Dopamine Calculator provides a rounded whole number as it's returned value, instead.
Some notable features of the Paramedic Dopamine Calculator are:
- Automatic conversion of selected weights.
- Toggle buttons for selecting from the two most commonly used Dopamine solution concentrations in the EMS setting.
- Quickly add or remove weight by 5 lb or 5 kg using the app's + or - buttons. Or simply type in the exact weight yourself.

Please remember that any tools you use while engaged in patient care must be reviewed and approved by your Medical Director Physician and/or agency's administrative staff. Do not use this app unless it is okay for you to do so. Also, always double-check complex calculations by at least a second method. If I can do it, you can too. This app was created by a Paramedic with 10+ years experience in the 911 setting. It is not meant to be your definitive means of determining appropriate drug therapy. You must rely on good, solid skills and a keen working knowledge. Use this app only as a secondary means of checking your own calculations or to give you a "quick and close" number to work with while you figure a more exact number, yourself.
