The Office Anesthesia Evaluation App is a tablet application which assists the examiners and the examinees complete the evaluation of the anesthesia setup at a clinical office facility, end to end, just by few clicks.
The Office Anesthesia Evaluation program an initiative of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS)and is designed to assure that each practicing member adheres to the safe office-based anesthesia (OBA) compliance requirements.
For whom and why:
As the number and types of surgical procedures performed in an office-based setting steadily increase, patient safety during OBA is becoming a most important aspect for all practitioners. It is indispensable in the practice of office-based oral and maxillofacial surgery, and is of late, also a part of plastic surgery, gastroenterology, dentistry, ophthalmology etc.
A standardized approach with regard to staffing, training, infrastructure and processes ensures that the practitioners of office-based medical and surgical procedures are well-prepared to treat patients safely in the office environment.
The surgeons, therefore, must have their offices successfully evaluated and re-evaluated by their component society periodically, with regard to governance, organization, construction and equipment, as well as policies and procedures.
Features of the app:
User accounts can be created and managed by both the Evaluator and the Assessee.
Authorized evaluators can use the checklists and questionnaires to review of all the fundamental physical requirements for the anesthesia facility - the charts record and documentation, anesthesia records, office emergency equipment and drugs, lighting systems, suction systems, operating room etc.
All relevant official details are captured for both users and the facility and will be available in the evaluation report including the electronic signatures upon completion of evaluation.
The report is generated in PDF format and emailed to the different stakeholders automatically upon after submission of the evaluation. It can also be printed out.
