NAHWU adalah kaidah-kaidah Bahasa Arab untuk mengetahui bentuk kata dan keadaan-keadaannya ketika masih satu kata (Mufrod) atau ketika sudah tersusun (Murokkab). Termasuk didalamnya adalah pembahasan
SHOROF. Karena Ilmu Shorof bagian dari Ilmu Nahwu, yang ditekankan kepada pembahasan bentuk kata dan keadaannya ketika mufrodnya.
Jadi secara garis besar, pembahasan Nahwu mencakup pembahasan tentang bentuk kata dan keadannya ketika belum tersusun (mufrod) , semisal bentuk Isim Fa’il mengikuti wazan ????, Isim Tafdhil mengikuti wazan ????, berikut keadaan-keadaannya semisal cara mentatsniyahkan, menjamakkan, mentashghirkan dll.
