We are all familiar with this well known phrase - but how do we know that it’s really true? How can we measure this? Are we really wiser when we return home from our trip abroad?

It is clear that we learn a huge amount when we travel, particularly when travelling abroad…. at seminars, while volunteering, during internships and student exchanges etc. But how can we define the new skills we have gained on such trips. How can we record what we have learned and share the fact that we have learned it with others?
If you have ever pondered these questions then you have come to the right place! Welcome to the M_APP project.

The M_APP project is funded by the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union. It started on January 1st, 2014 and will run until 31st of December 2015.

Our aims
To create a mobile device application (for smartphones or tablet PCs) which will help European adults to:
- document what they have learned during a stay abroadposter-einzelteile_0005_Ebene-6
- show how and when they have gained new skills
- present these newly acquired skills to others

To develop a recognition and accreditation procedure for two, out of the eight, European lifelong learning key competences:
- learning to learn
- social and civic competences

Both of these competences can be acquired during stays abroad. We believe that enabling this acquired knowledge to be accredited will help adults improve their employability and competitiveness on the labour market.

Our target group
Adults involved in different mobility actions across Europe, such as: workshops, volunteering, internships, practical training programmes, university exchange study programmes, municipality mobilities, leisure mobilities.
Organisations such as: adult education entities, public bodies providing recognition of non-formal and informal learning as well as European and public organizations involved in education policy making.
