seharusnya dimiliki oleh setiap penimba ilmu syar’i dan para calon da’i. Kemampuan membaca kitab gundul akan sangat membantu setiap muslim dan muslimah dalam memahami dalil Al-Kitab maupun
As-Sunnah.
Ilmu yang menopang kemampuan ini adalah nahwu dan sharaf. Ilmu nahwu adalah ilmu kaidah bahasa arab yang membahas tentang keadaan akhir kata di dalam kalimat dan perubahan yang terjadi padanya. Adapun ilmu sharaf adalah ilmu kaidah bahasa arab yang membahas pembentukan kata sebelum disusun ke dalam kalimat.
Kedua ilmu ini sangat penting untuk dipelajari. Dengan memahami ilmu nahwu seorang akan bisa membedakan antara pelaku [fa’il] dan objek [maf’ul bih]. Dengan memahami ilmu nahwu seorang akan mengenali keadaan akhir dari suatu kata; apakah ia bisa berubah akhirannya ataukah tetap.
