Luis Alfonso Rodríguez López-Cepero (San Juan, 15 de abril de 1978), más conocido como Luis Fonsi, es un cantante, compositor, actor, músico y productor puertorriqueño.
Su vida
Es el hijo mayor de Luis Rodríguez y Delia López-Cepero. Tiene dos hermanos menores: Jean Rodríguez, quien es también cantante y Tatiana Rodríguez. De pequeño, Luis Fonsi ya daba señas de que la música iba a guiar su vida. Con 3 años imitaba a las estrellas del popular grupo Menudo, y a su corta edad ingresó en el Coro de Niños de San Juan.
En 1989, se mudó con toda su familia desde Puerto Rico a Orlando (Florida), cuando solamente tenía 10 años de edad. En Florida no sabía una palabra en inglés, pero no se resistió a la mudanza. «Mi papá me dijo que iba a vivir en la misma ciudad que Mickey Mouse. Imagínate la ilusión que eso supone para un niño de diez años», dice Fonsi. Al mes de estar instalados en Estados Unidos, Fonsi hablaba inglés sin rastro de acento. Allí ingresó en la escuela Dr. Phillips High School, donde formó un grupo de música “Big Guys”, con los que cantaba en fiestas escolares y festivales locales con compañeros del instituto, como el famoso miembro del grupo 'N Sync, Joey Fatone.
La música ya era pieza importante y vital en su vida y ya en Norteamérica, Luis Alfonso consigue una beca de la Berklee College of Music para realizar estudios musicales y preparase a conciencia, por lo que estudió teoría, solfeo, apreciación musical, canto y composición. Además ingresa en el coro de esta universidad, lo que le da la oportunidad de participar en diversas giras por escenarios de Estados Unidos y Londres. En esta institución acaba con buenos resultados su formación académica, especializada en el ámbito de la música.
