Each of the Lily Ponds are based on traditional Buddhist mandala designs such as the Vairocana (Illuminator), Hevajra, Samvara, Yamantaka, rDorjeac'an (Holder of the Diamond), and the Mandalas of the Two Worlds (from the Muromachi period).
