La Oreja de Van Gogh es una banda española.Se formó en España en 1996, cuando el guitarrista Pablo Benegas, el bajista Álvaro Fuentes, el tecladista Xabi San Martín y el baterista Haritz Garde se
reunieron en la universidad.
San Martín fue el vocalista hasta que Amaia Montero se unió a la banda a pedido de Benegas, justo después de que la conociera en una cena. Mucho más tarde, la banda tocó en el Concurso de Pop / Rock de San Sebastián, en el que fueron descubiertos y posteriormente firmados por Sony Music.
Su primer álbum, Dile al Sol (Tell The Sun), debutó en 1998; Pasó a la cima de las listas de música española, y ganó el premio Ondas al mejor álbum del año. Después de numerosas giras, el grupo lanzó dos álbumes más, El Viaje de Copperpot (El Viaje de Copperpot) y Lo que te Conté Mientras Hacias la Dormida, así como dos DVDs: La Oreja De Van Gogh con material de sus dos primeros discos, y una actuación en vivo llamada Lo que te Conté Mientras Hacias la Dormida Gira 2003 '.
