Kitab ini ditulis oleh Asy-Syaikh Al-Faqih Salim bin ‘Abdullah bin Sa’d bin ‘Abdullah bin Sumair Al-Hadhrami Al-Batawi Asy-Syafi’i - rahimahullah - (wafat 1271 H). Beliau adalah seorang ulama kenamaan
asal Hadhramaut, Yaman yang tidak hanya pandai ilmu syariat, namun beliau juga mahir dalam masalah persenjataan. Oleh karena kemahirannya itu, beliau pernah ditunjuk sebagai delegasi pembeli senjata
oleh pemerintah Yaman.
Adapun kitab yang kita bicarakan ini bahasannya adalah mengenai aqidah dan fiqih. Di permulaan kitab, Syaikh Salim menyinggung masalah rukun Islam yang lima, rukun iman yang enam, dan makna “laa ilaaha illallah”.
