Developed by the principal of a Montessori school, Kinderbright incorporates Dr. Montessoris learning theories and makes learning to read safe, easy and fun. Kinderbright utilizes beautiful, high-def pictures, classical music, and interactive Montessori lessons. Children have used the app in homes and in classrooms with remarkable results. One Montessori teacher, who was initially skeptical, commented, Ive been teaching for 28 years, and Ive never seen three year-olds learn to read so fast!
The Kinderbright app is unique; it is interactive yet based on a video format. Children respond to the app, touch it, talk to it, but it continues to play regardless. We have found, from experimentation in multiple classrooms as well as in dozens of homes, that children LEARN from Kinderbright. That is a very different statement than saying children love the app, etc. It is also very beautiful to use, which separates Kinderbright from many other childrens apps on the market.
There are currently 25 segments, and each segment is 4 to 5 minutes in length, with slow Baroque music playing in the background. In conjunction with other instruction, children will: learn all 26 sounds; learn short vowel blends, such as hat, bat, mat, etc.; learn basic sight words; learn to read short sentences; learn the numbers 1-20.
The Kinderbright app is meant to be used 5 or 10 minutes at a time, or as long as a child is intensely focused.
