KAAFILA, the moment we hear this word we visualize a group of wanderers who are eloping from one place to another on camel backs through dense desserts or rocky mountains in search of new places and people. These nomads or wanderers used to make handicrafts, which when they reached new places would sell them for a living. They sold food too, which had a uniqueness of its own as they used their style of cooking but had influences of places that they had previously visited. This gave birth to a whole new cuisine known as NORTH WEST FRONTIER CUISINE and the exploration of these nomads is known as the NORHT WEST FRONTIER PROVINCE (NWFP).

The historic gateway to South Asia and once heart of the ancient Gandhara Kingdom - maintains a unique heritage. The legendry route from Peshawar to Kabul in Afghanistan is the most widely known and romanticized feature of the province in the world beyond. In the days of Kushan kings the land was called "the Lotus Land".
