★ Who is Krishna?
⇒ Dashavatara refers to the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. His incarnation or avatars are Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki. We worship Lord Krishna in different forms with many names such as Govinda, Mukunda, Madhusudana, Kanna and Vasudeva.
⇒ Krishna is worshipped as the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He was born as eighth son to Devaki and her husband Vasudeva who were put in prison by Devaki's brother Kamsa.Vasudeva secretly carried the infant Krishna out of the prison and exchanged children with Nandagopa and his wife Yasoda.His siblings were Balaram and subhadra.
Krishna killed demoness putana and many powerful demons. He danced on the snake kaliya who poisoned yamuna river in vrindavan. He lifted Govardhana hills to protect his people from Indra's anger.
⇒ He had lot of fun with the Gopis in vrindavan by playing his flute. His love and romance with Radha is sacred and absolute truth. He went to mathura and he killed kamsa. He married 8 queens collectively called Ashtabharya, including Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, Kalindi, Mitravinda, Nagna Jyoti, Bhadra and Lakshmana and 16100 maidens who were held captive by demon Narakasura. His wives were the forms of goddess Lakshmi.
⇒ He helped Throwpathi when she was in danger. He stood in Pandavas side in Kurukshethra war. He advised Arjun about the battle and he gave Bhagavad Gita to establish Dharma and truth in this world.There is a story saying a hunter who becomes a reason for Krishna's departure from this world.
