When you load Temple Run 1 for the first time, you\'re thrown straight into a game with a few pointers that allow you to get to grips with the controls and the aims of the game. Put simply, you\'ve\nstolen a cursed artifact from the temple, and you have to make your way through its walls whilst being chased by an angry hoard of evil demon monkeys (seriously) who want to eat you for dinner. Of\ncourse, the monkeys aren\'t all that you have to contend with as you play the game. In fact, if you\'re playing it remotely well then you probably won\'t see them too much as they\'ll be too far behind\nto cause you any hassle.\n

As you make your way around the temple, you can maneuver your character by tilting your phone left and right to collect coins which lie on the ground. These coins can be used to purchase items\nsuch as characters, power-ups, and utilities from the store.

\n

To mix things up and stop the game from becoming too repetitive, you will have to hop over tree trunks and slide under barriers that are blocking your way throughout the temple, and be ready to\nleap over gaps in the course too! Some parts of the temple will have barriers at either side of where you\'re running to prevent you from having too much fun with the accelerometer and sending your\npoor character off to swim with the fishes, but as you progress further you will be running on thinner ground where it is much easier to fall off.

\n

So what\'s changed on TR2? Well, the maps are more elaborate - this you can tell straight away as you zip-line your way into a brand new environment. However, the basic swipe controls remain the\nsame as the original game.

\n

Zip-lines aren\'t the only addition to the TR universe though; you\'ll also find revolving, spike-ridden wheels of doom, sudden cliff drops, water hazards, and the odd mine train that you\'ll have to\ntilt your way through (naturally).

\n

If you found the original game difficult, it\'s unlikely that the sequel will provide you with much reprieve. As you rack up more points, the pace hastens rapidly. Combine this with the additional\nobjects that are trying to kill you throughout the map, and Temple Run 2 is a very challenging game indeed. That doesn\'t mean that it\'s not casual though, in fact you now have the chance to use up\nyour in-game gems to resume from where you left off when you die.

\n

After spending many months playing on the original version of the game, the new environments are a breath of fresh air, with new elements such as zip-lines, alongside a number of new obstacles\nsuch as broken rocks and water hazards, making the game far more aesthetically pleasing than the last one.
