Good2Go

Good2Go is an app that shows UK residents when the National Grid is busy or near to capacity, and when it is quiet. It will also tell you how much carbon is being produced at the time and even what the energy sources are, such as coal, wind and nuclear power. This means you can choose to run appliances which use a lot of electricity at times when the grid is quiet or using more renewable energy than fossil fuels.

Running your appliances when the grid is quiet helps by making sure the grid does not reach capacity. If it does so, there could be a need to build more fuel stations which increases CO2 in the atmosphere and impacts climate change. There could even be power blackouts if too much electricity is used. We can all help here by turning off what we don't need and using energy wisely.
