* 골드버그 장치란?

골드버그 장치는 미국의 만화가 루브 골드버그가 고안한 연쇄 반응에 기반을 둔 기계 장치이다. 생김새나 작동원리는 아주 복잡하고 거창한데 하는 일은 아주 단순한 기계를 일컫는 말이기도 하다. 미 항공우주국 NASA에서는 골드버그 버그 장치에 등장하는 여러 물건의 상호 작용에 착안하여 우주 비행사들의 과학적 상상력 훈련과 위기 대처 훈련에 응용하기도 했다. 최근에는 창의성, 협동심, 리더쉽 훈련과 STEAM(과학, 기술, 공학, 예술, 수학)형 종합인재 양성에도 사용되고 있다.
