Foo Fighters is an alternative American rock band formed in 1994 by Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl as a follow-up project on the dissolution of the band before. The band's name was inspired by UFOs and
other airborne phenomena reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, known as Foo Fighter (Foo Fighter).
Initially, Dave Grohl was one of Nirvana's personnel. Together with his partner, Kurt Cobain, Grohl has raised the name of Nirvana to the top of his career. But togetherness does not last long because Kurt Cobain must face God first. Since Cobain's death, Grohl did not know what to do, so chose to disband the band he built with Kurt Cobain. After that he formed cooperation with various parties, until finally he found a partner and founded a new band called Foo Fighter.
Foo Fighter consists of five personnel, Dave Grohl who fill vocalist, guitarist, drummer and percussion (1995-present), Pat Smear as guitarist and backing vocal (1995-1997, 2006-2009, 2010 - present) Nate Mendel is bassist (1995-present), Taylor Hawkins fills drums, percussion and backing vocals (1997-present), and Chris Shiflett with guitar and backing vocals.
Foo Fighter's first album was released in 1995 with FOO FIGHTERS titles. Success with the first album, the fighters Foo continue to make a truce in the field of music. Finally they can still show themselves after the second album released titled THE COLOR AND THE SHAPE (1997). Achievements do not just stop there as they continue to launch albums, namely THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE (1999), ONE BY ONE (2002), IN YOUR HONOR (2005), ECHOES, SILENCE, PATIENCE & GRACE (2007). In addition they are still working on the next album titled WASTING LIGHT which is planned to be released in 2011 this.
Prior to its 1995 release, the official Foo Fighters members were only Grohl. But eventually the band is growing with the joining of other band members, namely Nate Mendel and William Goldsmith. Unfortunately Goldsmith left the band some time later. After that his position was replaced by Pat Smear, which was later followed by Taylor Hawkins and Franz Stahl. Stahl then also came out of the band so that Foo Fighter members left only four people. Fortunately Chris Shiflett then joined so that complete the band's formation becomes more solid. Pat Smear had vacuum from Foo Fighter's activities for a while, but eventually she rejoined. Throughout the journey, three albums had won the Grammy Awards as Best Rock Album.
