Esmâ-i Husnâ, Allah'ın güzel isimleri demektir.
Bir âyet-i kerîmede:
"En güzel isimler O'nundur (Allah'ındır)" (Haşr: 24) buyurulmaktadır.
Diğer bir âyette de; en güzel isimlerin Allah'a ait olduğu belirtildikten sonra, bu isimlerle dua edilmesi tavsiye olunmaktadır (A'râf: 180).
Allah'ın isimleri tevkifîdir. Yâni, Allah hakkında ancak âyet ve hadîslerde zikri geçen ve söylenmesine izin verilmiş olan isimler kullanılabilir. Rastgele isim izafe edilemez.
Esmaül Hüsna
Esmâ-i Husnâ ile ilgili olarak Buhârî ve Müslim'de:
"Allah'ın 99 ismi vardır. Kim bunları ezberlerse (îman eder ve ezbere sayarsa) Cennete girer" buyurulmuştur.
"Kim bunları (Esmâ-i Husnâ'yı) mânâlarını anlayarak sayar, bunlarla Allah'ı zikrederse Cennete girer."
Şâh-ı Nakşıbend Hz.leri bu hadîsle ilgili olarak buyurur ki:
"Bu hadîs-i şerîfteki Ahsâ kelimesinin bir mânası, saymaktır. Diğer bir mânası ise, bu ism-i şerîfleri öğrenip bilmektir. Bir mânası da, bu esmâ-i şerîfin mûcibince amel etmektir. Meselâ: Rezzâk ismini söylediği zaman, rızkı için asla endişe etmemeli. Mütekebbir ismini söyleyince, Allahü Teâlâ'nın azametini ve kibriyâsını düşünmelidir."

Esma-i Husnain Bukhari and Muslim regarding the:
