ePopsicleStix is an Android app that makes it easy to randomly select, list, group and score students. Just enter student names for as many classes as you'd like, then use ePopsicleStix to randomly
select students in a variety of ways:
RANDOM SELECT
Select students randomly one student at a time. Use the "Random Bar" slider to precisely set the "randomness" of the next selection; from "uncalled students only" to "completely random", and everywhere in-between. And although your students may not always love being selected, they will love the text to voice feature.
RANDOM LIST
Random List displays your class list in random order. Need a better system for picking the next student to sit in the comfy chair, or to take down attendance, or to choose a birthday cupcake? Random List is the answer. Create and save a random list for just about anything. And if the next student picked isn't quite right for the job (or the cupcake), just click "Back One" and get a "re-do".
RANDOM GROUPS
When you need to put students into groups, ePopsicleStix has you covered! Just push a couple buttons and the groups are ready to go. If the groups need a bit of tweaking, you can easily "swap" students with the Swap button. And if you're planning to use the same groups tomorrow, jut give the groupings a name and save it. Easy!
SCORED DISCUSSION
Scored Discussion enables you to track student responses during discussions. If you're teaching a mythology unit, for example, first create and save a Mythology discussion on ePopsicleStix. During the discussion, as selected students give answers, ePopsicleStix will prompt you to select a score for each response. ePopsicleStix will save and display a running score for each student. You can select students randomly (of course) or manually (by just clicking on a name).
