The good news is that writing is a skill which can be learned like any other. There are many times in your life when you will be asked to write something very specific. Whether this is to take notes of a conversation, write the minutes of a formal meeting, or prepare a report, all these types of writing require specific skills, and usually a particular style.
This application is designed for intermediate learners of English as second language (ESL). It contains 59 practice tests for writing English, each has 10 questions to be completed in around 10 minutes.
The questions are basically to test your English writing ability. You need to rewrite an incomplete sentence so that it has the same meaning with a given sentence. For example:
Example: I haven't enjoyed myself so much for years.
Answer: It's years _____________________________
You will need to type into the blank space "since I enjoyed myself so much."
You earn 10 points for each correct answer. There is no penalty for wrong answer. However, the answer is only recognized as correct answer if it totally matches with predefined answer for the question. Any discrepancy, including the missing of the stop mark at the end of the answer would be recognized as incorrect.
After you finish, your score will be reported (over maximum 100 points) and you will have chance to review your correct and wrong answer.
There is no time limit but you are encourage to complete each test in around 10 minutes.
