Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger de Saint-Exupéry (Lyon, 29 de junio de 1900 - Mar Mediterráneo, cerca de la costa de Marsella, 31 de julio de 1944) fue un escritor y aviador francés, autor de la famosa obra El principito, nacido en una familia noble de Lyon.
El autor de El Principito, fue un aviador y literato francés que sólo vivió 44 años. Nació en Lyon, en 1900 y falleció en 1944. En realidad, nunca se supo que ocurrió con él. Saint-Exupéry desapareció para siempre en una misión de reconocimiento, cuando sobrevolaba la Francia ocupada por los nazis, durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Entre sus novelas sobresalen Vuelo Nocturno y El Correo del Sur. Pero su obra más famosa y por la que ha trascendido es el principito, un cuento largo en formato de libro.
En El Principito, un aviador cae con su avioneta en el desierto. Allí encuentra a un pequeño niño rubio que viene de un lejano planeta, el asteroide B612, donde hay tres volcanes y una rosa. El Piloto y el niño se hacen amigos y comienza una historia donde se encuentran valores universales como la solidaridad, la bondad, la entereza, la tenacidad, el compañerismo.

In The Prince, an airman falls with his plane in the desert. There he meets a little blond boy who comes from a distant planet, asteroid B612, where three volcanoes and a rose. The Pilot and the boy become friends and begin a story where there are universal values such as solidarity, kindness, integrity, tenacity, companionship.
