Dinosaurs (Latin: Dinosauria) are animals that have dominated the life of the world for 150 million years. The dinosaur was formed from a combination of two words that mean the horrible lizard in Yunnan. That is why scientists in the past think dinosaurs are a kind of lizard. Widespread in Turkish; but it is also said to be mistaken as a dinosaur. Dinosaurs were first seen on Earth 230-235 million years ago. 65 million years ago, many dinosaur species have been extinct. Some of the dinosaurs were warm, while others were predators.

Other herbivorous dinosaurs had special weapons to protect them from carnivorous dinosaurs. For example, the triceratops guarded itself with ankylosaurus protruding bones while three horns were at the head, and sharp spines on the tail of the stegosaurus.
Of course there were some short-legged dinosaurs. Dinosaurs such as deinonychus and oviraptor from the same family are examples. These dinosaurs can be fast and predatory.
Carnivore dinosaurs walked on their hind legs just like human. The front legs are very small.
Some like Spinosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Carnotaurus are very large, Compsognathus (about 5.5 kg and 60 cm) are also very small.
The eggs of the dinosaurs were quite thick crusted. It protects the puppy in this shell and thanks to the special bond in it, the puppy develops in confidence.
There were flying creatures like pterosaurus, who lived in the same period as the dinosaurs, but these were not very closely related to the dinosaurs. There were also numerous floating reptiles such as ichthyosaurus and plesiosaurus. But they did not have a close relationship with the dinosaurs.

In 1980, Nobel Prize-winning physicist Luis Alvarez and his son, geologist Walter Alvarez, claimed that dinosaurs were destroyed by the impact of a meteorite. This view of Alvarezler gained weight in the scientific circles in the late '85s and early' 90s, and a common view emerged in the following years. Research has also proved this view. This view of scientists about how dinosaurs disappear reveals that the last of dinosaurs 65 million years ago a meteorite about 10 km in diameter hit Earth. This meteorite crashed into the Earth on Mexico's Yukatan Peninsula at 54,000 km / h and 200,000 km3 of material evaporated, melted or swept forward hundreds of miles ahead. More than 70% of these impacted living species have disappeared and the Chicxulub crater, 180 km in diameter, is one of the world's largest craters. It is estimated that the impact will be equivalent to an energy input equivalent to 100 million megatons TNT. The dust layer formed as a result of the impact has covered the atmosphere, the world has been in darkness for months, the temperature has fallen to the freezing point of the water and the acid rain has fallen. During these dark and cold months, which have been on for months, plants have not been able to photosynthesize, destroying the food chain, and these catastrophes have become the result of dinosaurs. When the world never saw the sun, ice was formed. The generation of dinosaurs was also depleted. However, it is estimated that some dinosaurs have not completely disappeared, and that some small species have evolved into the ancestors of today's birds and reptiles.
