Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez (San Juan, 3 de febrero de 1977), conocido como Daddy Yankee, es un cantante, actor, productor cinematográfico, locutor de radio, y empresario puertorriqueño.

Diversos sectores de la crítica le consideran «El Rey del Reguetón»,y uno de los artistas más respetados e influyentes del género,mientras que el portal estadounidense Allmusic afirma que el cantante puertorriqueño «ayudó a establecer el reguetón como un estilo de música durante el siglo XXI».

Desde su debut, el artista ha vendido 18 millones de álbumes a nivel mundial.Fue reconocido por la prestigiosa revista estadounidense Time como una de las 100 personas más influyentes del mundo en 2006;de igual forma, la cadena de noticias por cable CNN también lo nombró una de las celebridades hispanas más importantes e influyentes del mundo en 2009.Por lo menos, cuatro de sus álbumes de estudio, han liderado las listas de ventas del Top Latín Albums de Billboard.

Parte de su éxito reside en haber popularizado el reguetón en el mercado anglosajón. Su álbum, Barrio fino (2004), logró ubicarse en la primera posición en ventas del Top Latín Albums de Billboard,por alcanzar dos millones de unidades a nivel global, además de ser catalogado el «álbum de la década» en la categoría de Latin Albums por Billboard, y uno de los 40 mejores álbumes de los años 2000, por el portal web About.com;también fue la producción musical que lo proyectó a nivel internacional. Ha obtenido diversos reconocimientos, entre los que se encuentran, once premios Billboard de la Música Latina en las categorías de artista y álbum latino del año en 2005,álbum y canción reguetón del año y artista del año en 2006, álbum latino y reguetón del año en 2008, un premio Spirit of Hope en 2009 y otros tres premios en 2011. También fue ganador de dos Premios MTV Latinoamérica en 2006 y 2007.
