Covering Katy News provides 24-7 coverage of Katy, Texas. We focus on hard news and are not afraid to ask tough questions just like it used to be, in the days when community newspapers were owned by people who lived in the community they served.
Our founder, Dennis Spellman, is an award-winning career journalist who has joined the growing local independent online news movement that's sweeping the country. People want better local news coverage, and it's coming from independent news operations like Covering Katy News.
The app is free, but there is a subscription to have full access because old-school news coverage requires an old-school approach. Remember when newspapers had subscriptions? That was back when they were financially sustainable. We have created that same model so we can be operational for years to come.
