BIP adalah grup band yang didirikan oleh tiga orang musisi yang hengkang dari Slank pada tahun 1996, yaitu Parlin Burman (gitar), Bongky (bass), dan Indra Q(keyboard). Kini formasi mereka dilengkapi oleh Irfan Fahri Lazuardy (vokal) serta Avis Sukaesih (drum).
Bongky, Indra, dan Pay sepakat mendirikan BIP empat tahun setelah berpisah dari Slank, tepatnya pada tanggal 20 April 2000 di acara reuni Potlot yang diadakan di GOR Saparua, Bandung. Sebelumnya, para personel jebolan Slank itu pernah membentuk grup band Sablenk (Saya Bekas Anak Slank). Vokalis awal BIP adalah Irang Perdana Arkad. Mereka pun merilis dua album yaitu Turun dari Langit (2001) dengan mengandalkan lagu hits "Skak Mat", "Aku Gemuk Lagi" serta "1000 Puisi" dan Min Plus (2002) di bawah naungan EMI Music Indonesia.
Namun pada awal Maret 2003, Irang memutuskan untuk mengundurkan diri dari BIP. April 2003, bertepatan dengan dirilisnya album The Best of BIP : Ternyata Harus Memilih yang merangkum 14 tembang, BIP mengumumkan mereka tidak lagi memakai Irang sebagai vokalis. Dan sebagai tanda perpisahan itu, Irang tetap mengisi vokal pada lagu terbaru BIP, yaitu "Ternyata Harus Memilih" dan "Bosen". Sebagai gantinya, mereka menggandeng Ipang, mantan vokalis Plastik. Dengan format Bongky (bass), Indra (keyboard), Pay (gitar), Jaka (drum), dan Ipang (vokal), mereka merilis album Udara Segar (2004) di bawah Forte Record. Setelah vakum selama kurang lebih enam tahun, akhirnya pada 26 November 2010 BIP mengeluarkan album baru mereka yang bertajuk Berangkat di bawah naungan Fame Music. April 2003, to coincide with the release of the album The Best of BIP: Turns Must Choose which summarizes the 14 songs, BIP announced they would no longer use the Irang as a vocalist. And as a sign of the breakup, Irang remain vocals on the latest songs BIP, namely "It Must Choose" and "I'm bored". Instead, they took Ipang, former vocalist Plastics. With Bongky format (bass), Indra (keyboards), Pay (guitar), Jeff (drums) and Ipang (vocals), they released the album Fresh Air (2004) under the Forte Record. After a hiatus of six years, ended on 26 November 2010 BIP issued their new album, titled Depart under the auspices of Fame Music.
