H. Abdul Somad, Lc., MA. Lahir pada hari Rabu, 30 Jumada al-Ula 1397 Hijrah, bertepatan dengan 18 Mei 1977M, menyelesaikan pendidikan atas di Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Falah Air Molek Indragiri Hulu Riau pada tahun 1996. Memperoleh beasiswa dari Universitas Al-Azhar Mesir pada tahun 1998, mendapat gelar Licence (S1) pada tahun 2002. Pada tahun 2004 memperoleh beasiswa dari AMCI (Agence Marocaine Cooperation Internationale), mendapat gelar Diplôme Etudes Supérieure Approfondi (S2) di Dar al-Hadith al-Hassania Institute, sebuah insitut pendidikan Islam khusus Hadits yang didirikan oleh Raja Hasan II Raja Maroko di Rabat pada tahun 1964. Anggota Komisi Pengkajian Majelis Ulama Indonesia Provinsi Riau periode 2009 - 2013. Anggota Komisi Fatwa Majelis Ulama Indonesia Kotamadya Pekanbaru periode 2012 - 2017. Anggota Komisi Pengembangan Badan Amil Zakat Provinsi Riau periode 2009 - 2013. Dosen Universitas Islam Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau sejak 2008 sampai sekarang
