Aku mendengar dari orang yang kupercaya tentang sejarah perjalanan hidup Syaikh al-Imam az-Zahid. Se moga Allah senantiasa memberikan taufik pada beliau dan memeliharanya dalam menjalankan risalah
agama Nya. Sejarah perjalanan hidup beliau memperkuat keinginanku untuk menjadi saudaranya di jalan Allah Swt. karena mengharapkan janji yang diberikan Allah kepada para hamba-Nya yang saling
mencinta.
Persaudaraan tidak harus dengan bertemu muka dan berdekatan secara fisik, tapi yang dibutuhkan adalah adanya kedekatan hati dan perkenalan jiwa. Jiwa-jiwa merupakan para prajurit yang tunduk; jika telah saling mengenal, jiwa-jiwa itu pun jinak dan menyatu. Oleh karenanya, aku ikatkan tali persaudaraan dengannya di jalan Allah Swt.. Selain itu, aku harap beliau tidak mengabaikanku dalam doa-doanya ketika sedang berkhal wat serta semoga beliau memintakan kepada Allah agar diperlihatkan kepadaku bahwa yang benar itu benar dan aku diberi kemampuan untuk mengikutinya, dan yang salah itu salah serta aku diberi kemampuan untuk meng hindarinya. Kemudian aku dengar beliau memintaku untuk memberikan keterangan berisi petuah dan nasihat serta uraian singkat seputar landasan-landasan akidah yang wajib diyakini oleh seorang mukalaf.
