Beto Juega

Beto is a child with Down syndrome. He lives with his parents and his dog. He is a joyful, expressive, with an admirable body handling child. He has a difficulty communicating with words, something natural in people with DS.
In "Beto Play" we play with Beto snack time. The game has three different modes:
- "Forms" where the idea is to identify his snack by its silhouette and put them in their correct place.
- "Numbers" Where the idea is to say how many objects are there.
- "Words" where the idea is to name different objects

Beto, a Transmedia idea.

Beto was intended as a Transmedia idea and offers several windows. We propose to include people with Down Sindrome from possible imaginary worlds that cohabitate with the real worlds. Although new perspectives on social inclusion have currrently arisen, it remains difficult to overcome certain barriers or "ghosts" in relationships with disabled people in practise. Discrimination is not bad, in the case of a child as Beto one must discriminate because to treat him like any other child would place a heavy burden on him. This discrimination has nothing to do with segregation. We talk about discrimination as a way of being aware of each other's differences. A way to change our view is to learn to coexist with these differences. Beto has difficulties in communicating with words, something natural in people with DS due to hypotonia of your facial muscles. Applications like BETO JUEGA can help early stimulation to improve communication of people with intellectual disabilities.
The main intention of the Universe Transmedia Beto is to insert in the collective imagination the life of someone with Down Sindrome and exploring different possibilities of family life as a door to a new everyday life, it is also to assist in the visualization of differences as a starting point towards its acceptance You may discover Beto through his world.
