Babies grow out of their clothing so quickly that they may only get the chance to wear each of their items of clothing a few times before they become far too big for them. Save it for a sibling
Saving old baby clothes for a younger sibling is a great way to reuse an old item and to save a little bit of money on the cost of buying new clothing. Items of formal wear which have only been worn once or twice are especially good to save, as they will still be in tip-top condition. Some families are especially keen on saving christening gowns for their second child, as they feel it begins a new tradition and helps the family to bond with one another. Some parents even save a baby's christening gown to give to their grandchildren to wear!

Give it to charity
Many mothers struggle with all of the costs associated with having a baby, and unfortunately, buying formal baby dresses is one of the expenses that they may not be able to afford if they were to buy the item new. Giving unwanted items to a charity shop is a great way to enable other parents to have the same beautiful things for their children as you had for yours.

Arts and Crafts
If you are especially handy with a sewing machine, you can make a baby dress into something else, which can be given to your child when they grow older, or which can be saved for use on special occasions. Some choices which can be considered include monogrammed handkerchiefs or ornamental doilies which can be placed under the christening photos.

Display Pieces
Some parents choose to display the baby dresses which their children wore to their Christening or naming ceremony. When placed in a simple gold frame and set on a monochrome background, a baby dress can look very elegant if it is mounted with the baby hat, booties and socks which they wore on their special day. Carefully attach items to backing material using mounting pins, so as not to damage these precious items.
