This work of a Marketing genius is being published 8 years after the passing away of the author because it’s last chapter was incomplete. It is an advanced statistical marketing model which was his own creation. All attempts to complete the book after his death were met with a selfish responses of trying to add the name of the reviewer as a co-author. This would have been unfair to him. The book is being published without the last chapter which will probably see the light of the day as a separate publication, depending on the response to this book and to the availability of a competent and selfless reviewer.

Mr. V. R. Navelkar was a Marketing guru. He has held various top executive positions in companies like Richardson Hindustan (now Procter & Gamble), Warner Hindustan & ultimately retired as a Vice-President, Marketing of Sandoz-India. He had a strong Mathematics background, and a Masters in Statistics from the Pune University.
He also did a post graduate program from the University of Boston, USA. He was a human computer and in the era where pocket calculators were a luxury, he could do oral calculations that were faster than machines. His mastery over statistics gave him a unique advantage of application of complex statistical models and principles to the field of marketing. The positions he held, gave him an opportunity to test these models.

Teaching was his passion and he had been associated with various Management institutes of repute including The Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management studies, Mumbai
for more than twenty years, as a honorary faculty. He was a paper setter and examiner for the Mumbai university both for their diploma and their masters program for many years.

He has a large body of students who have achieved great heights in this field of Marketing Management and still have fond memories of him both as a teacher and a great human being.
