Athletes Spy

Athletes Spy is an app that enables your Android device to capture popular ANT wireless sensors data (not encrypted) from several road running competitions (e.g. marathon, half marathon, 10.000m, 5.000m, 10 mile, 5 mile races) and cross-country competitions. Currently, if you are standing on the road or cross-country, watching a running competition, usually you only observe runners for a few seconds, without any additional information.
Using this app when runners pass by your device you can access and view their ANT sensors values which is very interesting to analyse their effort. You can also view the number of detected ANT sensors, the first sensor/runner captured time and the time difference for the remaining ones. Athletes Spy’s performance depends on ANT wireless coverage range that goes up to 20 meters.

SENSORS
The current version detects/supports the following sensor type:
- Heart rate (bpm).
The next version, which will be available soon, will detect the following kind of sensors:
- Foot speed and distance (m/s and m).

MODALITIES
Using Athletes Spy you can detect sensors information from the following competitions:
- Marathon;
- Half marathon
- 10.000m;
- 5.000m;
- 10 mile;
- 5 mile;
- Cross-country;
- Other modalities where athletes use similar sensors.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
You will need one of the following hardware configurations in order to properly use Athletes Spy app:

1. A device with native ANT support.
a) Requires the “ANT Radio Service” app.

2. A device without native ANT support
a) An Android device with the USB Host feature (optional in Android 3.1 and up) and an ANT USB Stick (ANTUSB2 or ANTUSB-m) through a USB OTG cable or host A port.

b) Requires the “ANT Radio Service” app.

Troubleshooting (for Xperia models with Android version greater than 2.3):
- If your ANT+ interface is not working make sure that ANT+ option is enabled on “Performance Assistant” app that came with your device.
Or
- Disable ANT+ option on “Performance Assistant” and reboot the device. Re-enable ANT+ option on “Performance Assistant” and reboot the device again.
