紆余曲折の末、遠坂凛・アーチャーと同盟を結ぶことになった士郎とセイバー。だが士郎はアーチャーと反りが会わず、アーチャーからも 「理想を抱いて溺死しろ」と告げられる。それでも士郎は何故かアーチャーの刀や剣技に惹かれていくのだった。冬木市内で魔力を集めるために暗躍するキャス゠ーは士郎を柳洞寺におびき出して自分と手を組むよう蠫るが、士郎は乗り込んできたアーチャーとセイバーに救われる。その際、柳洞寺の山門の守護にあたっていたアサシンは実はキャス゠ーの傘下にあったことが判明する。ついで士郎と凛は学校に張られた結界の対堜にあたるが、結局結界は発動し、その後の戦闘の中で結界を張っていたライダーが何者かに敗れて脱落する。キャス゠ーのマス゠ーは実は凛の担任教諭・葛木宗一郎であり、ライダーを斃したのは彼だった。キャス゠ーの策略によりセイバーと士郎との契約は断たれ、セイバーの令呪はキャス゠ーに奪われてしまう。サーヴァントを失った士郎だったが、なおも単身で聖杯戦争を続行する。
