突然発生したウイルスにより大人たちが死に絶え、人間社会が崩壊してから4年。残された子供たちは吸血鬼たちが住む地下都市に囚われ、血液を提供する代わりに生かされるという家畜同然の生活を送っていた。その中の一人、百夜優一郎は「家族」である百夜ミカエラたちと共に地下からの脱出を図るが、ミカエラたちは脱出計画に気付いた吸血鬼たちの手にかかって死亡し、優一郎は唯一地上へ帰還する。
それから4年後、吸血鬼への強い憎しだを胸に秘めた優一郎はミカエラが吸血鬼として蘇ったことを知らないまま、帝鬼軍の門を叩く。
