《孔叢子》，舊題陳勝博士孔鮒撰。現存的版本有七卷和三卷兩種系統，篇數皆為23篇，兩種傳本除分卷不同外，并無太大的差異。其中，1至21篇，是《孔叢子》，內容由孔子（1至4篇）、子思（5至10篇）、子高（12至14篇）、子順（15至17篇）、子魚（18至21篇）五位孔氏人物的言行記錄，加上屬訓詁材料的第11篇〈小爾雅〉所構成。第22、23篇為〈連叢子〉上下，上篇記載了孔臧的賦與書䠡、子豐的言談事跡及相關世系，下篇則為孔季彥的言談記錄。各篇的篇名，大抵與該篇的內容有關，如〈論書篇〉收錄孔子論《尚書》的言論。〈對魏王〉為魏王與子高的問答記錄。每篇之中，分別收錄若干則材料，但每則材料之間，沒有明顯的繫屬關系。
《孔叢子》載有大量孔子和子思的對話，但是，學界普遍認為子思在孔子去世時年齡太小，無法親受孔子之道，從而懷疑《孔叢子》的史料價值。《史記。孔子世家》等幾種子思生年的說法均不能成立。伯魚比顏回早卒，顏回的卒年是考察子思生年的下限時間。顏回卒于公元前491年（魯哀公四年），子思最晚生于此年。
