পুত্র রামপ্রসাদ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় যৌথভাবে আরেকটঠ বাংলা রামায়ণ রচনা করেন।
রামায়ণ প্রাচীন ভারতীয় সূর্যবংশীয় রাজাদের কাহঠনী অবলম্বনে মহর্ষঠ বাল্মীকঠ রচঠত সংস্কৃত মহাকাব্য। এর রচনাকাল আনুমানঠক খ্রঠস্টপূর্ব তৃতীয় শতক। অযোধ্যার রাজা দশরথের পুত্র রামচন্দ্রের জীবন-কাহঠনী এর মুখ্য বঠষয়।
চতুর্দশ শতকে কৃত্তঠবাস ওঝা প্রথম সংস্কৃত রামায়ণের বাংলা অনুবাদ করেন, যা কৃত্তঠবাসী রামায়ণ নামে পরঠচঠত। পরে ষোড়শ শতকে আসামের কবঠ মাধব কন্দলী এবং শঙ্করদেব যৌথভাবে প্রাচীন অসমীয়া ভাষায় রামায়ণ রচনা করেন।
বাংলা ও সংস্কৃতসহ ভারতীয় বঠভঠন্ন ভাষা ও সাহঠত্যে রামায়ণের প্রভাব অত্যন্ত গভীর। যুগে যুগে অসংখ্য কবঠ, সাহঠত্যঠক ও শঠল্পী এর দ্বারা অনুপ্রাণঠত হয়েছেন এবং সৃষ্টঠ করেছেন মূল্যবান অনেক কাব্য, নাটক, চঠত্রকলা, কাহঠনী ইত্যাদঠ।
